Registration for Summer Camp 2027 will open in February 2027.

Students aged 6-14 can attend any of the mixed-age sessions.

If your family has flexibility on dates, please indicate this at registration. This lets me balance sessions by age and/or ability level as needed, and I'll make sure to reach out before any scheduling changes happen.

You can also register along with a friend and work together!

The more, the merrier, so please share a link to this camp with any young person you know who would love to make new friends and stitch with us this summer.

Each week will feature several project ideas and the instruction and materials to complete them. Students can also spend some or all of their time in open-ended work on independent or small group projects as they choose. Most projects can be adapted to fit any skill level.

Some possibilities for projects that may be offered include (but are not limited to):

• t-shirt or hoodie embellishment or refashioning

• make your own knitting needles and knit with them

• making a stuffy

• sewing a nine-patch quilt square by hand or on a sewing machine

• crocheting a plant hanger

• knitting a hammock for a stuffy

• making a tote bag on a sewing machine

• crocheting granny squares for a pillow cover

• knitting fingerless gloves

• creating a fantasy-themed belt, pouch, or other wearable item

• sewing a simple cloak, skirt, or pajama pants on a sewing machine

• making a wall hanging for your room

Students who sign up for multiple sessions can bring projects from a previous session to complete.

Students should wear clothing that can get messy (we may use dye, glue, etc.) and is suitable for working and playing outdoors. Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a healthy peanut-free lunch.

All materials and tools needed to learn to knit, crochet, and sew are provided. This includes, but is not limited to:

• high quality yarn (includes a variety of wool, cotton, and synthetic options)

• knitting needles (including the option to make your own)

• crochet hooks

• scissors, yarn needles, and other items needed for finishing

• buttons or other closures

• fabric for exploring hand and machine stitching (typically quilting fabric, felt, or fleece)

• fabric scissors or rotary cutter, ruler, and mat

• thread in a variety of colors

• embroidery floss

• needles, wax, and other hand stitching necessities

• two sewing machines will be available

• iron and ironing board

Short answer: Yes! (But you don't have to.)

All materials necessary are provided and you don't need to do anything but show up. If you are a complete beginner, DO NOT go out and buy anything. There are a lot of choices at craft stores or online and they can be overwhelming. Sometimes a material can look really appealing, but can inadvertently cause frustration when learning. I select high-quality materials and tools for you so that the learning experience will be smooth, fun, and maximize chances of success.

That said, I know a lot of more experienced stitchers have a stash of supplies at home that might provide inspiration, and I want to support you using whatever feels best for your projects.

If you have a hoodie you want to embellish, t-shirts you want to refashion, or the perfect yarn to make a stuffy, that's exactly the kind of thing you should bring. Or maybe you have some fabric that you love but have never been able to figure out what to do with. Bring it in and we can brainstorm together.

Paper and pencils will be provided for sketching project ideas, but if you have a sketchbook you'd rather work in, go for it!

If you want to bring personal tools such as knitting needles, crochet hooks, or a sewing kit, make sure that everything is labeled with your name. As we are working outside, small items may get lost, so please don't bring anything that is sentimental or valuable.

Below is 2026 pricing; Wool & Thimble reserves the right to increase prices as needed to reflect the cost of materials and staffing.

For cash or check payments, the first session is $385; subsequent sessions from the same household are $350. This could be siblings attending in the same week, or one child attending for multiple weeks.

For Venmo payments, the first session is $392.42, and each sibling or additional session is $356.75. Thank you for paying Venmo's 1.9% plus 0.10 transaction fee to keep costs down for my small business.
